One thing I remembered well about this rice lentil recipe, namely the strong cinnamon taste. So I researched a bit and finally found Yottam Ottolenghi's recipe here. I knew it had to be good, so I used it as inspiration. But I adjusted it a little to my liking.

For example, I did not fry onions in an oil bath as in his recipe. I used less oil and caramelized the onion after applying it with a little cornstarch to make it even crispier.

The result was exactly what I wanted. A delicious lentil dish with rice came out, with strong flavors and a very successful combination of textures.
