Cooking Baked Squid with Cheese:

Step 1: prepare and fry the vegetables.


First of all, turn on and preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Then we peel the onion, and cut off the stalk of Bulgarian sweet pepper and gut it from the seeds.

We wash the vegetables under cold running water, dry with paper kitchen towels, take turns on a chopping board and cut into strips thick from 2 to 4 millimeters.

Then we put the pan on medium heat and put a couple tablespoons of butter in it. As soon as it warms up, dip the chopped onion there and pass it until transparent for 45 minutes.
After that add sweet pepper to it and cook them together for a few more minutes, stirring intensively with a kitchen spatula. Then we rearrange the pan on the countertop and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: prepare the squid and cheese.


We take the right amount of peeled fresh squid and rinse under a stream of cold water. Then we dry them with paper towels and then proceed as desired, or leave them whole or cut into rings with a thickness from 1.5 to 2 centimeters. If you chose the second option, then for this process you will need a clean cutting board and a kitchen knife.
After the seafood issue has been resolved, cut off the paraffin crust from the hard cheese and rub it on a fine or medium grater directly into a deep plate.

Step 3: bake squid with cheese.


The products are prepared, you can proceed to the final stage, put the squid in a heat-resistant baking dish. Put onion and fried pepper on top of them. Season vegetables to taste with salt, black pepper, grease with mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Then we put the form in the preheated oven on the middle rack and bake our dish 15 - 20 minutes.
After the required time, we put on kitchen gloves, take out the fragrant dish from the oven, put on a cutting board, previously laid on the countertop, and slightly cool the squid with cheese for 3-5 minutes. Then we lay out delicious seafood in portions on plates and serve.

Step 4: serve the baked squid with cheese.


Baked squid with cheese is served hot or warm. This dish can be considered the main one, and also serve it as a snack in front of meat dishes or soups. It does not need any additions, but sometimes a plate with chopped lime or lemon, sauces based on tomatoes, cream or sour cream are put next to seafood. Enjoy a delicious and simple meal!
