Cooking Onion Bread:

Step 1: prepare the water.


Pour the required amount of purified water into a small stewpan and put it on medium heat. Warm up the liquid up to 38 - 40 degrees Celsius. It should be slightly warm so that you can lower your fingers into it and not get burned. When the water warms up, remove the stewpan from the stove, put it on the countertop and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: prepare the dough - stage one.

Pour half of the whole mass of sifted wheat flour into a deep bowl. We put salt, sugar and granular quick-acting yeast there.
Mix the dry ingredients with a tablespoon until smooth. After that, in the middle of the mixture we make a depression in the form of a funnel and pour warm water into it.
Mix the products again until smooth, gradually adding the remaining flour and kneading the dough at the same time.

Knead it 7 to 10 minutes, if desired, this can be done on the kitchen table. The dough should be soft, flexible and pliable, and also not stick to your hands.
Next, grease the bowl with two tablespoons of olive oil, put the dough in it, cover it with a kitchen towel and put in a warm place for one hour.

Step 3: prepare the onions.


While the yeast dough rises, prepare and fry the onions. To get started, peel it, rinse it under cold running water and dry it with paper kitchen towels.
Then put the onions on a chopping board and cut into cubes or half rings. It is desirable that the thickness of the pieces does not exceed 5 - 7 millimeters. Leave the cut on the board.

Step 4: fry the onions.


Now put on a medium heat pan and pour two tablespoons of vegetable oil into it. After some time, dip the onion slices into the heated oil and fry them until golden brown, stirring with a wooden kitchen spatula.
After 4 - 5 minutes the onion is blushed. When this happens, remove the pan from the stove and put it on the countertop.

Step 5: prepare the dough - stage two.


After an hour, the dough will double in volume. Add to it the cooled onion (without butter) and knead the semi-finished flour product so that the pieces of fried vegetable are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Lubricate the silicone bread baking dish with the butter in which the onion was fried, and put the loaf formed from the dough into it. Cover the mold with a kitchen towel and put in a warm place for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, turn on and preheat the oven up to 200 degrees Celsius.

Step 6: bake onion bread.


After the required time has passed, put the form with the dough in a preheated oven. Bake bread 30 - 35 minutes until golden brown. Then check its readiness with a wooden kitchen skewer. Insert the wooden stick into the flesh of the baking and take it out. If the skewer is dry - the bread is ready.

We put on kitchen gloves, take out the form with the “onion miracle” from the oven and put it on a cutting board, previously laid on the kitchen table. We cover the bread with a paper towel so that the gap remains, and let it stand for an hour. After that, we get the baking from the mold.

Step 7: serve the onion bread.


After cooking, cool the onion bread, then take it out of the form, cut it, put it in the bread box and serve it warm for lunch, dinner, afternoon snack or breakfast. With this baking it is pleasant to eat any dishes. It also makes great sandwiches and delicious canapes. Enjoy it!

Recipe Tips:

- Sometimes spices such as coriander, black pepper, Italian or French dried herbs are added to the dough.

- Olive oil can be replaced with refined sunflower oil.

- If you do not have a silicone mold for baking bread, then you can use the usual metal mold, a frying pan with a removable handle, or you can bake a loaf of bread on a non-stick baking sheet, previously covering it with a sheet of baking paper.
