Canned Fish Pie


Ingredients for Canned Fish Pie

Dough:

  1. Wheat flour 350-400 grams
  2. Butter 100 grams
  3. Milk 1/2 cup

Making a cake with canned fish:

Step 1: prepare the butter for the dough.


Put a piece of butter in a small stewpan and put it on a small fire. Melt the butter to a liquid consistency. Then pour it into a deep bowl. We put salt there and mix the products until the salt grains are completely dissolved. Cool the oil to room temperature.

Step 2: prepare the dough.


After some time, we put a chicken egg in a bowl with cooled butter and beat them with a whisk until lightly splendid. We add milk, a food baking powder to the resulting mixture and re-mix the products. After using a sieve with a small sect, sift 350 grams of wheat flour into a bowl while kneading the dough with a spoon.

When the cutlery ceases to help, continue kneading on the kitchen table, gradually adding the remaining flour. We devote to this process 8 - 10 minutes.

The dough should not be sticky, dense, but at the same time flexible and pliable. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Step 3: prepare the products for the filling.


While the dough is infused, prepare the filling. Using a can opener, open a couple of jars of saury. Drain the oil from them, remove large bones from the fish, transfer it to a bowl and knead the table fork into small pieces.

After that we cut off the paraffin crust from a piece of hard cheese and rub it on a medium or large grater directly into a deep plate.

Then peel the onion and rinse it under cold running water along with herbs. Then we dry them with paper kitchen towels, put on a cutting board and cut. Cut the onion into cubes up to 1 centimeter in size, and chop the greens finely. Leave the slices on the board.

Step 4: prepare the filling.


Now we pour a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil into the pan and put it on medium heat. After a couple of minutes, put the onion cubes in the heated oil and fry them until golden brown, stirring with a kitchen spatula. It will take no more 3 to 4 minutes.

Then transfer the fried onions into a bowl of fish. There we put chopped greens, black pepper to taste, and, if necessary, a little salt. Stir the filling with a tablespoon to a homogeneous consistency.

Step 5: prepare the fill.


Also during this time we are preparing the filling. We beat 3 to 4 chicken eggs into a deep bowl, add mayonnaise to them, taste the salt and beat the products with a whisk until a homogeneous consistency.
Then turn on and preheat the oven up to 180 degrees Celsius. Lubricate the inside and bottom of the baking dish with a tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Step 6: form a cake with canned fish.


After the dough has been infused, put it in a baking dish and distribute it on the bottom of the container with clean fingers, leaving the sides with a height of 1.5 - 2 centimeters. Then spread on a flour base an even layer of filling. Pour it with a beaten egg and sprinkle with chopped hard cheese.

Step 7: bake a cake with canned fish.


We send the form with the still raw cake into the preheated oven for 35 - 40 minutes. After this time, all products will reach full readiness. We put on kitchen gloves, take out the form from the oven and put it on a cutting board, previously laid on the countertop.

Step 8: serve the cake with canned fish.


Pie with canned fish is served hot, warm or cold. In any of these options, the taste of the dish is simply magnificent. Before serving, the pastries are cut into portions, laid out on plates and supplemented with vegetable salad or marinades. Very often this cake is savored with sauces made with tomato, sour cream or cream. Enjoy a delicious and simple meal!

Recipe Tips:
