Salad "Sea King"


Ingredients for the preparation of salad "Sea King"

  1. Squid fillet peeled frozen 250 grams
  2. 1 medium onion
  3. 1 medium carrot
  4. White cabbage 300 grams
  5. Chicken egg 2 pieces
  6. Mayonnaise 72% fat 150 grams
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Fresh parsley to taste
  9. Vegetable oil for frying

Preparation of the Sea King salad:

Step 1: prepare the carrots.


Thoroughly rinse the unpeeled carrots under running water and put in a small pan. Fill the container with ordinary cold water so that it completely covers the vegetable, and put on medium heat. When the water boils, make the fire less than average, cover the pan with a lid and boil the root crop for 20-40 minutes depending on its size. Attention: the readiness of carrots is best checked with a fork. If it easily enters a vegetable, then you can get it out of boiling water so as not to digest it. After the allotted time has passed, turn off the burner, and transfer the component with a fork to the cutting board.

When it becomes warm, we cut off the stem with a knife and remove the soft skin. Cut the carrots into small cubes and transfer to a free plate. Attention: optionally carrots can be chopped on a coarse grater.

Step 2: prepare the eggs.


We lay the eggs in a free small pan and fill them with ordinary cold water so that the liquid completely covers the component. We put the container on medium heat. When the water boils, make the fire less than average and cook hard-boiled eggs for 10 minutes. Immediately after that we turn off the hotplate, and with the help of kitchen tacks we rearrange the hob in the sink. Turn on to full cold water so that the eggs can cool in the same second. Thus, we can easily remove the shell from them without damaging the cooked protein.

We spread the peeled eggs on a cutting board and finely chop into cubes. The processed component is transferred to a free plate.

Step 3: prepare the onion.


Using a knife, peel the onion from the husk and rinse thoroughly under running water. We spread the vegetable on a cutting board and cut into rings.

Meanwhile, put on a medium heat a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil. When the oil warms up well, make the fire less than average and put the onion rings in the bowl. From time to time, stirring them with a wooden spatula, fry until tender golden color. After that, turn off the burner, and transfer the onions to a clean plate.

Step 4: prepare the squid fillet.


Put the squid fillet on a plate and set aside so that it unfrosts to room temperature. After the seafood becomes soft, thoroughly rinse them under running warm water.

We put on a medium fire a free pan with ordinary cold water and cover the container with a lid. When the water boils, add a little salt to the container, mix everything well with a tablespoon and after that, carefully spread the squid fillet. Attention: it is necessary to boil the component no more 2 minutesotherwise it will become hard and tasteless. Immediately after the allotted time, turn off the burner, and the contents of the pan, holding it with kitchen tacks, pour over the colander into the sink.

When the water drains completely and the squids are slightly cooled, we transfer them to a cutting board. Now, with ease, remove the film with a knife and cut the seafood into thin rings or straws. Shredded ingredient is transferred to a clean plate.

Step 5: prepare the cabbage.


We clean the cabbage from the coarsened leaves and rinse under running water. We spread the vegetable on a cutting board and, using a knife, thinly chop the straws. Attention: if desired, the cabbage can be grated on a coarse grater. Shredded component is transferred to a medium bowl, slightly salt it and wring it out with clean hands so that it can give juice.

Step 6: prepare the Sea King salad.


Put all the crushed ingredients in a deep bowl, add mayonnaise and, using a tablespoon, mix everything thoroughly until smooth. After that we transfer the salad to the salad bowl and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley on request. Attention: the dish does not need to be insisted, but can be served immediately at the dining table.

Step 7: serve the Sea King Salad.


Salad "Sea King" can be served for lunch, dinner and a festive table. The dish is very juicy, aromatic and tender. It will definitely appeal to even those who do not like seafood.

Recipe Tips:

- Salad can be decorated not only with parsley, but also with dill, mint or a green onion.

- To prepare the salad, it is not necessary to fry the onions, you can put the onion rings in a medium bowl and pour them with boiling water. Add there 1 teaspoon of wine vinegar and leave to marinate for 5 minutes. Thus, bitterness will leave the vegetable, and it will become much juicier and more tender. After that, it is necessary to throw the onion into a colander and set aside so that excess liquid is removed from it.

- For salad dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise. You can also mix this component in half with sour cream. Then the dish will taste much more tender.

- Instead of white cabbage, red cabbage or Chinese salad can be added to the salad. And if you add canned corn and rice to all the ingredients, the dish will become not only tastier, but also more satisfying.
