Cooking potatoes with greens in foil:

Step 1: Prepare the potatoes.


We start cooking with potatoes. In our case, fresh was used, therefore it is enough to thoroughly rinse it under running water and cut it directly with the peel. And if you do not cook the dish in the season of potatoes, then after washing, the peel should be completely cut off with a knife. By the way, the root crop for this dish is suitable for any variety. As for the slicing, everything is simple: on a cutting board we cut raw, peeled vegetables into pieces of arbitrary shape about 3 centimeters and put them in a large plate or bowl.

Step 2: We are preparing refueling.


Next, go to the garlic. Remove the husks from the cloves, rinse under running water and grind: either chop with a sharp knife (as in our case), or resort to using a grater with small holes, or use a special garlic box. Having decided on the method of grinding, we shift the garlic into a clean deep plate.

Now we wash the dill under running water, shake it over the sink and lay it on a cutting board. Cut the stems and set aside, and cut the greens as small as possible.

The prepared dill is transferred to a plate with chopped garlic. Add vegetable oil to them, to taste salt and black pepper. Thoroughly mix our dressing with a tablespoon until smooth.

Step 3: Prepare the potatoes for baking.

Until the potato slices begin to blacken, rather pour them into a plate with dressing and mix with a tablespoon. Stir until the dressing completely covers all the potatoes. Now we need to put it in the foil. To do this, cover the baking sheet with foil, put potatoes on its center and tightly seal the edges together.

Step 4: Bake the potatoes.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and set the pan on the middle rack. After 25 minutes check the readiness of the vegetable, the pulp should be easily pierced with a knife or fork, if pierced poorly - bake more 10 minutes. If desired, the potatoes can be slightly dried by simply leaving it in a hot oven without foil for 5-10 minutes, after stirring it.
Carefully take out a hot baking tray with fragrant potatoes from the oven and you can serve our dish to the table.

Step 5: Serve the potatoes with greens in foil.


Potatoes with herbs are served immediately after cooking hot. They are often supplemented with various dishes of meat, fish, poultry, as well as fried or pickled mushrooms. The latter option is preferable to serve in fasting or for vegetarians. As for the drink, the best for potatoes would be milk or cream.

Recipe Tips:

- Such potatoes can be cooked not only with dill, but also with other herbs, for example, parsley, green onions, spinach, and also mix them to your taste.

- If 5 minutes before the end of cooking, unfold the foil and sprinkle the potatoes with grated cheese, the dish will become even tastier.

- As a vegetable oil, you can use both sunflower and olive.

- Ground black pepper can be supplemented with other aromatic spices to your taste, for example, thyme or oregano.
