Tortoise salad


Turtle Salad Ingredients

Making Turtle Salad:

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.


For our salad you will need boiled eggs and baked chicken. It’s better to start with chicken: grease the baking dish with vegetable oil, wash the chicken fillet under cold running water, dry it with paper kitchen towels or napkins and put it on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, cut the fillet in half, put into shape, sprinkle to taste with salt and black pepper.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius, after which we send the chicken to bake until fully cooked 20 minutes. With the passage of the necessary time, we take out the form from the oven, carefully push the foil and check the readiness: pierce the meat with a knife, if it turns white, then it is ready (you can try the filet for complete confidence). If the chicken did not have time to bake, then we seal the foil back and remove the form in the oven.
In the meantime, chicken is baked, boil the eggs. We rinse them under hot running water, put them in a small pan and fill them with clean water. We put the pan on the burner, turn on the medium heat and wait for the water to boil. Then we reduce the fire a little and cook the eggs 6 - 8 minutes. Next, gently pour the hot water from the pan and fill the cooked eggs with cold running water so that they cool faster.

Step 2: Grind the ingredients.


We lay out pure walnuts on a cutting board and chop with a sharp knife as finely as possible. Then we put it in a clean plate.

We clear the onion from the husk, rinse under cold running water, cut into small cubes and transfer to a separate plate.
Grate the cheese with small holes in any convenient bowl.

Meanwhile, the chicken has probably already been baked and you can start chopping it. Cut the fillet with a sharp knife into small cubes about 1 centimeter and transfer to a clean plate.
Now we clear the eggshells and separate the yolks from the proteins. Separately, rub them on a grater with small holes in different plates.
We wash the apples under running water, cut the skin, spread it on a cutting board and cut it in half. Remove the seeds and core, grate now with large holes in a clean plate.

Step 3: Form the salad.


Put the protein in the serving dish, lightly ram it with a fork and carefully lubricate it with mayonnaise. Then on the sides we decorate the plate with lettuce leaves, and lay the chicken on the protein so that it turns out to be an oval shape (this will be the shell of our tortoise).

Lubricate the chicken with mayonnaise.

Sprinkle with chopped onions, then an apple and again grease with mayonnaise.

Now sprinkle with grated yolk and grease it with mayonnaise.

The next in line cheese and the final layer are walnuts.

Next, we cut 4 paws, a tail and the head of our turtle from pickles. Eyes can be made with ordinary peppercorns.

Step 4: Serve Turtle Salad.


We serve the finished salad on the festive table, and so that all guests have time to evaluate your culinary abilities, we cut it after everyone has gathered. Cook with pleasure!

Recipe Tips:

- The salad will turn out even tastier if you make mayonnaise at home.

- If you do not have red onions, then replace it with a regular repetitive one or do not add it at all.

- So that peeled apples do not blacken, they can be sprinkled with lemon juice.
